Reduce injuries and job site hazards with increased traction from SafTrax coatings. Applied using a twin wire arc spray process, the cored aluminum wire filled with ceramic oxides provide a wear resistant surface to aluminum, cast or ductile iron, stainless steel and carbon steel that is long lasting and maintaining an average friction coefficient of one-to-one.

Although traditional non-slip coatings initially provide a solid footing, those properties do not withstand the tests of time.  These coatings either fail due to adhesion failures or they are worn away and require constant maintenance.

Using tubular cores filled with ceramic powders of aluminum, silicone or iron, the SafTrax family of anti-slip coatings are significantly lighter than traditional liquid coatings.

Increase structural integrity

Exposure to outdoor conditions will increase the risk of rust, especially if the climate is rainy or humid.  Corrosion can cause metal structures to deteriorate prematurely, causing safety and financial liabilities.  Protect against corrosion with SafTrax anti-slip coatings which will not delaminate due to impact or undercutting corrosion.

Our line of anti-slip coatings includes TH335, TH604, and TH605.  TH604 is a tubular or cored aluminum wire filled with up to 46 percent of powders consisting of aluminum oxide.  TH605 is tubular or cored wire filled with up to 46 percent of powders consisting of silicon carbide.  TH335 is a tubular or cored wire comprised of iron and packed with aluminum and carbon powders.

With TH604, aluminum serves as a binder for the hard ceramic and provides the corrosion protection to the underlying article while the ceramic oxide provides wear resistance which can increase longevity.

When applying TH605, the aluminum tube or sleeve serves as a binder for the hard silicone carbide and provides the corrosion protection to the underlying material. The silicon carbide material provides for a wear-resistant protective barrier that increases the anti-skid coating’s longevity.

A post-treatment galvanizing process is suggested when using TH335, which produces a wear-resistant, non-skid coating using Iron based material. Because the material has an iron base, it does not offer any corrosion protection as a standalone product.

With the application of SafTrax being a “Low Skill Level Process” combined with an estimated service life of one decade, SafTrax coatings are a better value than traditional non-skid coatings.  Other coatings require precise mixing and environmental condition and have a considerably shorter lifespan.

Applying traditional non-slip coatings to a metal surface requires preparation, time and regular maintenance.  The application process itself can get quite messy and areas are rendered unusable during the curing process.  Also, resin and hardener mixed improperly can negatively impact finished coating performance and longevity not to mention the harmful “Volatile Organic Compounds” they emit.

Unlike other non-skid coatings, SafTrax coatings are ready to use and don’t require messy measuring and mixing. A twin wire arc spray process is used to spray an anti-slip coating on metal substrates. With no cure time, productivity is uninterrupted.
