Power Industry Coatings

Damaged, cracked, slippery, or unsafe flooring in a power plant can adversely affect both safety and production. The safety, efficiency, and productivity of a power plant facility is drastically improved with a durable non-slip coating.

Why Use Anti-Skid Coating for Power Generation Applications?

Whether by impact, abrasion, chemical spill, or thermal shock, power industry floors endure heavy wear and abuse all day long.  In general, uncoated floors and surfaces are not designed to take this kind of treatment on a continual basis.

SafTrax’s line of power industry anti-skid sprays and non-slip coatings increase the longevity of surfaces by protecting them from traffic, moisture, abrasion, chemicals, vehicles, and other damaging elements. Easy to apply, our non-slip coatings ensure safer work environments by providing superior traction in high-traffic areas (both pedestrian and vehicular traffic) and demanding environments where slip-and-fall accidents may occur. This durable and economical solution not only solves traction issues, it reduces downtime and labor costs, increases productivity, and provides degradation protection for power-generating industry surfaces.

Common power industry applications include railings, stairs, material-handling areas, safety platforms, control rooms, and much more.

Benefits of SafTrax Coating for Power Industry Applications

SafTrax’s line of power plant non-slip coating helps flooring and surfaces that are vulnerable to damage over time, resulting in less efficient production and dangerous working conditions due to increase risk in slip-and-fall accidents. With a coefficient of friction of 1:1, our coatings have a proven record of long-term prevention and protection (over 10 years) that require no maintenance, won’t wear away, or fail due to adhesion issues.

Also, our power generation industry anti-skid spray ensures erosion and corrosion protection and UV, fire, and chemical resistance for operating surfaces facing various temperatures and pressures. Developed to perform in extreme conditions, SafTrax coatings are ideal treatments for carbon steel, cast or ductile iron, aluminum, and stainless-steel surfaces. Our coatings surpass NAVY/NAVSEA Military Specification No. 24667 testing requirements, withstand flexing, and resist peeling, which make them capable of lasting up to five times longer than other coating options.

Anti-Skid Coating Characteristics

The SafTrax line of anti-slip coatings includes TH335, TH604, and TH605, which are Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant and exceed Occupational Safety and Health Administration non-skid requirements. TH604 is a tubular or cored aluminum wire filled with up to 46 percent of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) powder, whereas TH605 is tubular or cored wire filled with up to 46 percent of silicon carbide (SiC) powder. TH335 is a tubular or cored wire comprised of iron and packed with aluminum and carbon powders.

SafTrax products are ready to use and do not require preparation, time, and regular maintenance. They will adhere to practically any substrate and form a superior bond that resists delamination. A twin wire arc spray process is used apply these materials and form a non-slip coating. These coating solutions are especially beneficial for use on steel and aluminum; however, they can be applied to other metals and materials, including concrete and plastics.

Using tubular cores filled with ceramic powders of aluminum, silicone, or iron, SafTrax products are 45 percent lighter than traditional non-skid coatings and provide superior performance with less weight.

Provide continuous safe working conditions and protect surfaces from corrosion and wear with SafTrax non-slip coatings. Our team is available to help identify the best SafTrax coating for your application.
